  Solid pub food. The wood fired pizzas in particular were very good. The service from the staff was also excellent. They catered for my partners dietary needs without breaking beat.

  Seriously. This place is amazing. I came in for a bite to eat not knowing the place. I'd just come from a lovely day out with my family at nearby railway station and museum. We hadn't booked ahead but regardless they found us a table and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying our meal. The head waiter was a brilliant host. I ordered a starter but when I received the wrong one they were very kind and took it off the bill.
  
  The food and drinks were to die for and I'm looking for any opportunity to visit the area just to eat there again.
  
  I cannot stress how much you should eat here. By far the best restaurant/bar this side of the Thames.

  I visited the pub as part of a family celebration. Lovely place in both suroundings and beer choice. Ive been here many years ago and i would have no hesitation in returning... soon.

  Stayed overnight, great hosts, rooms dressed excellently, food very good pub grub. Genuine nice place with huge amount of small nice quality touches in guest rooms, cafetiere, fresh own ground coffee, chefs home made short bread, and more. Stay!
